Why it matters
Why keep an eye on your memory?
We track blood pressure and cholesterol because trends tell us more than any single moment — and memory is no different. Checking in while you feel well gives you a reliable reference point to measure against down the road. It’s the everyday forgetting we all do versus a pattern worth a closer look, and knowing the difference puts you in a stronger position. If anything stands out, you’ll have something concrete to bring to your own doctor.

Our mission
Why is there no charge?
Memory and brain health sit at the heart of the research we do, and the more people we can reach early, the more we learn. Removing the price tag is how we make that possible — it lets anyone curious about their memory simply walk in. It also connects you to our broader work in neurology, where study participation often comes at no cost to the people who take part.

The process
What to expect on the day
The visit is short and relaxed — plan for around half an hour from check-in to walking out the door. You’ll work through two well-established memory exercises with a member of our team, and there’s nothing to study or prepare for beforehand. Just come as you are.
01
A guided memory questionnaire
Using the clinically validated SLUMS exercise, we'll go through a short set of questions that touch on orientation, recall, attention, and reasoning. It takes about seven minutes.

Memory checks are available across our Canadian clinics and a growing list of US sites. Pick the location nearest you and give the team a call to set a time.

A few honest words before you book
A memory check isn't a diagnosis — it's a snapshot, not a verdict.
These exercises can't decide on treatment, and we won't try to.
Whatever the results, your own physician is the right person to talk them through with.
